Meet at Cross erected on Watson lot at intersection of Hwy 301 and Hwy 222 to pray for our community and country. Our desire is to make the presence of Christ visible in our community as we prepare for Holy Week. The cross will remain at this location for the duration of the Easter festivities.

Thursday, March 15 and 22 at 7 P.M.

Community Choir Practice: Kenly Original Free Will Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to join and practice for the upcoming Community Palm Sunday Service. It’s always awesome to see the choir loft full.

Sunday, March 25 at 7 P.M.

Community Palm Sunday Service: Kenly Missionary Baptist Church. The community choir will sing, congregational prayer and songs, and each pastor/leader of participating churches is asked to bring a word of testimony or short message to the congregation.

Thursday, March 29 at 7 P.M.

Tenebrae Service: Kenly United Methodist Church. A Tenebrae service consists of passages are read as candles in the sanctuary are gradually extinguished. The service ends in complete darkness. It is a most inspiring service. Let’s join together as we commemorate the death, burial of our Savior and the darkness before the dawn of Resurrection Sunday.

Friday, March 30 at 6 P.M.

Carry the Cross: Volunteers will meet at Grady Park to carry cross from Grady Park to Kenly Cemetery where it will be erected permanently. We will have police escort and safety precautions have been made. Please come out and participate. What a powerful message would be sent if people saw a crowd of folk carrying the cross from one end of town to the other.

Friday, March 30 at 7 P.M.

Community Gathering: American Legion Building. A time of fellowship after the cross is carried to the cemetery. Meal provided at no cost. (Meal TBD)
